PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Corporate Tax Technical Specialist would support the development of high-quality tax technical analysis and insights focused on the UAE corporate tax landscape. The role involves conducting detailed research, proactively monitoring legislative developments, drafting technical position papers, tax alerts, contributing to thought leadership, and supporting training and capability building.
Key responsibilities
Tax Technical research- Conduct in-depth research on tax laws and administrative guidance.
- Continuously monitor, track, and analyze legislative developments
- Monitor global tax developments (e.g., OECD Pillar Two, BEPS initiatives) and assess their relevance to UAE businesses.
- Interpret complex tax provisions and translate them into practical guidance.
- Analyze tax treaty positions and cross-border implications for UAE-based entities.
- Maintain a repository of technical knowledge and precedents.
- Draft comprehensive tax position papers and technical opinions on complex tax matters.
- Support team members in forming defensible technical interpretations aligned with UAE legislation.
- Prepare timely tax alerts on legislative changes, clarifications, and new guidance.
- Translate complex legislative changes into clear, concise, and practical summaries for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing newsletters and client updates focused on UAE tax developments.
- Contribute to articles and whitepapers on emerging UAE tax topics
- Contribute to webinars and conferences to enhance the organization's market profile.
- Contribute to the development and updating of internal training materials.
- Support the design of technical training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Assist in delivering training to internal teams.
- Help maintain technical knowledge repositories, templates for consistent firm-wide use.
PROFILE
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Tax or Law.
- Professional qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent).
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in corporate tax advisory, with 1+ years of experience in UAE
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of corporate tax and international tax. Knowledge of IFRS would be an added advantage
- Research & Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret tax laws.
- Drafting Skills: Strong ability to prepare clear, structured, and technically sound documents.
- Communication: Ability to simplify technical issues for business audiences.
- Proactiveness: Keen interest in staying current with evolving UAE tax developments.
