- Overseeing the design, development, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Creating detailed design specifications, selecting appropriate systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols
- Providing guidance to the engineering team, conducting technical reviews, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of control systems
- Coordinating with vendors, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration and quality
- Developing and overseeing plans for testing and commissioning, ensuring proper calibration and functionality of equipment
Responsibilities
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
- 18+ years of experience in quality management (relevant to the mentioned QC discipline - welding)
- Participation in the vendor and subcontractor selection and approval
- Quality management
- Inspection and test planning and execution management
- Criticality rating management
- Vendor and subcontractors inspections, audits, and non-conformance management
- Procurement quality objectives and KPIs management
- Performance analysis and evaluations of vendor and subcontractors
- Procurement documents and record control management
- Technical bid evaluation, technical queries, and change management
- Liaising with third party inspection agencies
- Procurement quality performance reporting
- Review and approval of vendor and subcontractor documents
- Compliance with the project applicable codes, standards, specifications, and other special requirements
Leadership skill:
- Lead and mentor a team of QC engineers and designers, serving as the primary point of contact for QC engineering matters
- Identify technical issues, define alternative solutions, establish pros and cons for multiple solutions, and make recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries and technical deviations
- Allocate tasks, provide guidance, and issue clear directions to ensure effective and efficient project execution
- Develop project schedules, ensure adherence to timelines and budgets, and monitor project schedules on submissions of QC deliverables
- Coordinate with project and engineering managers, procurement, construction, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
- Ensure all deliverables' accuracy and completeness and that they comply with quality standards and specifications
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, initiative, and analytical skills
- Lead, motivate, coach, and manage a team independently, ensuring engineering competence, team building, and enhancing responsibility and ownership
- Demonstrate highly effective technical and practical engineering skills in the QC discipline, consistently delivering quality, accurate, and timely work to Wood and its clients
- Identify project milestones, delivering deliverables as per project schedule within budgeted man-hours
Stakeholder management:
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements
- Manage interface meetings with clients and vendors to progress design scopes
Safety and compliance:
- Ensure all instrumentation and control activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Promote a culture of safety within the engineering team and across the project site
- Actively participate in various project workshops and reviews such as design, P&ID, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, ALARP reviews, 3D model reviews, constructability, and SIMOPS reviews

Expected:
- Bachelor's degree in QC engineering as a minimum
- At least 15 years of experience in oil and gas projects
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in lead engineer position for a major greenfield/brownfield project FEED/detailed design
- Proven experience in selecting instrumentation and control equipment, developing control strategies, and preparing specifications
- Preferred candidates have expertise in control system design, including control loop design, field instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, actuators), and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus)
- Experience in managing a team of 50+ engineers and designers
- Experience in coordination of the satellite office teams and managing the productivity and quality
- Hands-on experience in industry software, such as In tools, Conval, SPI, 3D model review tools (SPR & Navisworks), MS Office suite, etc.
- Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, multi-tasking, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment
- Able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing with other disciplines and multinational workforces in an effective manner
- Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods, inter-discipline coordination
- Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved
- Professional certificate in IWE, CWE, or another equivalent (approved by the company)
