Electrical Engineer (Oil and Gas)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the detailed design and engineering of a major onshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in the oil and gas sector, hands-on expertise in detailed engineering, and extensive experience using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) for electrical design and modeling.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and review detailed electrical engineering deliverables for onshore oil & gas facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, cable routing, and equipment specifications.
• Prepare and verify load calculations, single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, and data sheets for electrical equipment.
• Lead and coordinate SP3D modeling of electrical systems, including equipment layout, cable trays, and routing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (instrumentation, mechanical, civil/structural, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs.
• Support project planning, progress monitoring, and issue resolution related to electrical scope.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.), client specifications, and project-specific requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews, HAZOPs, model reviews, and vendor meetings.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases as required.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 8-12 years of electrical engineering experience in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on onshore projects.
• Proven experience in detailed engineering design for large-scale oil & gas projects.
• Strong proficiency in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) must have hands-on modeling experience.
• Working knowledge of software tools such as ETAP, Dialux, and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Familiarity with Middle East project specifications and client standards is preferred.
