Position: Credit Officer
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Banking or Financial Institutions (SME, Large corporate and Supply Chain Finance lending) (Minimum 3 years of similar UAE experience)
Qualification: MBA (Finance) / CA / Postgraduate in Finance or related fieldLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAE (ONSITE)
Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Credit Officer to oversee end-to-end credit management across SME, Large corporate and Supply Chain Finance portfolios. The role demands expertise in credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, risk mitigation, and policy compliance.The Credit Officer will play a key role in driving sound credit decisions and maintaining a healthy asset portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze credit proposals for various lending facilities including working capital, term loans, overdrafts, and SCF products.
- Conduct detailed due diligence including assessment of financial statements, cash flows, bank statements, and management profiles.
- Approve credit limits within delegated authority and recommend higher exposures for committee approvals.
- Develop and implement credit risk assessment frameworks and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
- Continuously monitor asset quality, identify early warning signals, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with business and collections teams to maintain portfolio performance.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior credit analysts and ensure quality of credit underwriting.
- Participate in policy reviews, process improvements, and implementation of best practices.
- Prepare periodic portfolio MIS, risk reports, and present to senior management.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders for credit audits and reviews.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in credit underwriting and management in a bank or Financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of credit products for SME, Large corporate and Supply Chain Finance segments.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis, cash flow forecasting, and risk assessment.
- Exposure to credit monitoring tools, early warning systems, and portfolio management.
- Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong understanding of credit policies, operational processes, documentation standards, and credit control frameworks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable CBUAE regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Educational Qualification:
- MBA (Finance) / Chartered Accountant (CA) / Postgraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, or related field.
