• The function of the HSES Manager is to play a key role in the development of a pro-active, transparent, and continually improving HSES culture across the organisation and in particular their assigned location
• The HSES Manager is to lead by example on all HSES matters with honesty, integrity, and transparency
• The HSES Manager is to ensure that all deugro group work activities are carried out in a safe and controlled manner with the appropriate level of risk management applied and in complete compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and legislation

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintenance of the deugro integrated management system
• Contribute to the creation and delivery of HSES trainings across the organisation
• Perform audits, safety inspections and other safety related duties assigned for designated company facilities, projects and sub-contractors
• Play an active role in maintaining ISO 45001, and ISO 14001
• Support deugro group entities and affiliates on Prequalification, Tenders, Questionnaires, and planning & execution of projects as pertains to HSES
• Support deugro group's participation in Supply Chain Security and or Supply Chain Security Programs
• Represent HSES at operational project sites, ports, or equivalent locations as and when required
• Create lessons learned, HSES moments, HSES case studies and assist in the development and roll out of HSES initiatives
• Ensure area of responsibility is compliant with HSES aspects of the deugro groups subcontractor management process
• Ensure all work activities performed by or on behalf of the deugro group have the correct level of risk management and risk mitigation in place
• Ensure that HSES monthly KPI reporting and or project specific reporting is completed in a timely manner to a satisfactory standard
• Responsible for ensuring all HSES occurrences, observations, audit findings are reported in the deugro group reporting system and followed up, investigated with root causes identified and addressed
• Perform the role of Lead Investigator when required to do so
• Be the HSES point of contact for both clients and subcontractors
• Contribute to the creation and publication of Monthly HSES Bulletin
• Host monthly HSES meetings within the designated area of responsibility

Skills, knowledge, and expertise:

• Bachelor's degree preferably in Occupational Health and Safety
• National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) Certification or Diploma
• Management of offshore projects in relation to Health, Safety and Environment
• 6-10 Years of work experience in a HSES management role
• Candidates with experience in heavy lift / transporting operations, offshore activities, ADNOC projects, and related marine transport tasks are strongly preferred.
• Accredited Lead or Internal Auditor qualification preferred
• Industry recognised Incident Investigation training
• Experience with risk management processes tools such as HAZID, HAZOP, HIRA, JSA and PTW
• Must be able to pass a background check to obtain as required any security sensitive clearance in locations located within the region
• Proven track-record of managing within the logistics industry in a Health and Safety role
• Effective interpersonal skills, including leadership, communication, effective negotiation and conflict resolution, team player with a proactive work ethic
• Ability to provide detailed investigation and audit reports
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Proficient in reading, understanding, and analysing technical documents
• Strong organizational, documentation and technical writing skills
• Willingness to travel when required
• First class computer skills, proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications
