Role Overview:

The position of Retail Senior Manager is to ensure that the department runs smoothly and efficiently in all areas of retail store operations, kiosks, vending machines, and third party operations within Miral assets. These include guest service standards, colleague selling and guest service competencies.

The position is also responsible for ensuring that colleagues work and thrive in a harmonious working environment by guiding and assisting management colleagues in terms of proper man-management and development of front line colleagues in order to increase colleague satisfaction and decrease turnover.

The Retail Senior Manager has the responsibility to ensure the department achieves or exceeds budgeted financial targets by ensuring that the correct merchandise is displayed at all times, ensuring seasonal promotions and sales offers are planned and launched at the specified times and by developing and managing their direct reports to reach the required standards and financial outlet targets.

The Retail Senior Manager is responsible for setting the goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for their direct reports thus ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability for the department. The Retail Senior Manager should actively seek and implement operational cost saving efforts in order to maximize the profitability of the department.

The Retail Senior Manager will deputize for the director in his/her absence.

Role Scope:

Retail Strategy and Planning
  • Develop and implement retail strategies aligned with business objectives to maximize sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Analyze market trends, guest behavior, and sales performance to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Set clear financial and operational goals for the management team, ensuring targets are met across all retail stores and channels.
  • Optimize workforce utilization to maintain operational standards and ensure labor costs remain on or below budget.
  • Lead retail projects such as store openings, renovations, and promotional events, ensuring successful execution.
  • Manage departmental expenses to ensure actual costs stay within budget, contributing to increased profitability.
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the department which includes multiple retail stores kiosks, vending machines, and third-party operations ensuring high performance and efficiency across all locations.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures related to visual merchandising, inventory management, and guest services at all outlets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support retail initiatives and swiftly address any operational challenges.
  • Coach and develop direct reports and operational managers, ensuring colleagues perform to the highest standards, and both guest and employee satisfaction targets are met.
  • Act as a positive and fair role model, consistently upholding high standards while motivating and supporting the team to achieve personal, departmental, and company-wide goals.
  • Foster internal communication by sharing relevant information to improve coordination within the department and across the company.
  • Enforce and follow Miral&aposs standard operating procedures to exceed operational requirements, ensuring guests experience the highest level of quality and service.

Develop, standardize, and assess department processes, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and support colleagues in meeting their operational needs.

Team Management and Development
  • Lead, motivate, and manage retail teams, including Retail Managers and staff, ensuring they are well-trained and equipped to meet store and company objectives.
  • Implement employee development programs to enhance team skills, improve performance, and provide career growth opportunities.
  • Conduct colleague performance appraisals in a timely, fair, and constructive manner, promoting both personal and career development.
  • Interview and recommend candidates for open positions, ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws and the company&aposs equal employment opportunity policy to hire the most qualified candidates.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency throughout all retail outlets.
Sales and Profitability
  • Drive sales performance by identifying key business drivers and implementing effective sales strategies and promotional activities.
  • Monitor store KPIs, such as sales targets, conversion rates, average transaction value, and Guests satisfaction metrics.
  • Manage budgets, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation to maximize store profitability.

Guest Experience and Service Excellence:

  • Ensure stores consistently deliver high-quality guest service, aligned with brand values, to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Develop and achieve department and company objectives, implementing action plans and key performance indicators that support the companys balanced scorecard approach to the strategic plan.
  • Adhere to and enforce UAE laws, health, safety & environmental policies, as well as industry and company regulations, reporting any safety concerns to management to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for both guests and staff.
  • Manage emergency situations efficiently to minimize damage, loss, or injury to guests, staff, or company property.
  • Represent and promote Miral positively, maintaining a professional brand image with all stakeholders.
  • Actively listen and respond to guest feedback, assessing satisfaction index results and trends to continually improve and exceed guest expectations.
  • Enforce leisure facility rules and ensure crowd control in a friendly manner to maintain guest safety and an enjoyable experience.

Inventory Management and Merchandising:

  • Oversee inventory control processes to optimize stock levels, minimize losses, and ensure product availability across all stores.
  • Collaborate with the visual merchandising and inventory teams to ensure the right products are displayed in the right stores at the right time, maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards that align with the brands image, enhancing product visibility and customer appeal.

Ensure proper maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies to minimize damage, reduce waste, and control operational costs effectively.

Performance Reporting
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, including insights into sales trends, operational issues, and team performance.
  • Use data and analytics to forecast sales, set targets, and measure the effectiveness of strategies

Role Essential:

  • College Degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a retail multi-unit management position
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in performance monitoring and strategic planning

Role Desirables:

  • Business Administration degree
  • Operations management experience from multiple high volume turnover units such as theme parks, malls and airports
  • Experience with similar product assortment as found in Miral retail outlets and other theme parks
  • Any other language would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of business development
