Job Description
JOB PURPOSE: Lead the endu2011tou2011end planning, mobilisation, and delivery of the Americana Joint Venture (AMR JV) within
Franchise Operations. Serve as the primary focal point between internal functions and the partner, translatingJV strategy into executable roadmaps and measurable outcomes. Drive unit openings, operational readiness, and crossu2011functional synergies (marketing, loyalty, fuel, supply chain) to achieve the JVu2019s P&L targets and
longu2011term growth plan. Ensure disciplined governance, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvementthroughout execution.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: JV Strategy & Planning
u2022 Define the JV strategy and translate corporate and partner objectives into annual and 5-year operatingplans with clear milestones and KPIs. Ensure strategic coherence across development, operations,and commercial drivers.u2022 Lead cross-functional planning forums to synchronise inputs from development, engineering, finance,operations, supply chain, and marketing. Create one integrated master plan.
u2022 Establish governance rhythms (steering committees, reviews, stage gates) that enable timelydecisions, risk visibility, and portfolio reprioritisation. Maintain a single source of truth.
u2022 Prioritise greenfield and brownfield opportunities to maximise asset utilisation and market coverage.Use data-driven criteria for site selection and sequencing.
u2022 Maintain an integrated synergy plan covering marketing, loyalty, fuel supply, and operationsexcellence. Monitor benefit realisation against P&L targets and customer outcomes.
Project Management & Execution
u2022 Own endu2011tou2011end mobilisation for unit openings, coordinating timelines, dependencies, and readinesscriteria across internal teams and the partner. Drive onu2011time launches.u2022 Standardise project controls (scope, schedule, cost, risk, change) and institute disciplined reporting tosenior leadership and the partner PMO. Escalate blockers early.
u2022 Direct resolution across design, fitu2011out, permits, commissioning, and handover. Maintain deliveryvelocity and quality through structured issue management.
u2022 Implement stage gates and readiness checklists covering technical, operational, and commercialrequirements. Enforce entry/exit criteria.
u2022 Track execution KPIs (onu2011time opening %, readiness score, defects closure rate) and run correctiveaction plans where thresholds are missed.
Governance, Contracts & Approvals
u2022 Coordinate contracting frameworks with Legal, drafting and endorsing NOCs, addenda, and approvals.Ensure auditability and compliance with policy and JV standards.u2022 Maintain a comprehensive approvals matrix spanning capex, layout, branding, and operations. Keepdecision traceability and documentation complete.
u2022 Chair governance reviews to validate scope, commercial terms, and operational commitments.Resolve variances and maintain alignment with strategic intent.
u2022 Embed regulatory and policy controls throughout all phases. Conduct periodic compliance checks andrectify nonu2011conformities promptly.
u2022 Keep contractual obligations visible to delivery teams via registers, dashboards, and briefings. Preventscope creep and nonu2011compliant changes.
Commercial & Financial Delivery
u2022 Lead JV business case development, coordinating feasibility studies, CAPEX/OPEX inputs, rentals,and sensitivity analysis. Support investment decisions with robust data.u2022 Translate P&L targets into operational metrics (traffic, conversion, basket, NPS) and cascadeperformance expectations to delivery teams. Monitor weekly runu2011rates.
u2022 Quantify synergy benefits from marketing and loyalty programs, fuel logistics, and supply chainoptimisation. Track realised value against baseline.
u2022 Implement cost governance and valueu2011engineering practices across design and operations. ProtectROI and accelerate payback without compromising standards.
u2022 Prepare periodic performance reports for leadership and partner executives. Highlight variances, risks,and recovery actions with clear owner and due dates.
Operations Excellence & Launch Readiness
u2022 Define operations excellence standards and toolkits to sustain service quality, safety, and customersatisfaction postu2011launch. Institutionalise SOPs and audits.u2022 Lead readiness assessments covering staffing, training, systems, logistics, and contingency plans.Close gaps before handover to operations.
u2022 Establish defect management and stabilisation plans for the first 90 days after opening. Monitorrunu2011rate achievement and stabilisation KPIs.
u2022 Partner with QA & Food Safety to embed compliance controls and traceability aligned to JV andregulatory requirements.
u2022 Drive continuous improvement using performance analytics and customer insights. Scale bestpractices across units for consistent outcomes.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
u2022 Act as the primary interface with the partner (Americana). Maintain transparent communication, trust,and joint decisionu2011making at executive and working levels.u2022 Facilitate forums with Development, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing& Loyalty. Remove silos and accelerate delivery.
u2022 Manage structured escalation paths and resolve crossu2011functional conflicts. Keep priorities and risksvisible through agreed dashboards.
u2022 Develop and execute stakeholder communication plans, ensuring timely updates and clear actions.Capture and action feedback loops.
u2022 Represent the JV in internal/external reviews and site visits. Uphold brand, safety, and customerexperience standards consistently.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field Masteru2019s degree is anadvantage.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
u2022 10 years of experience in multiu2011site retail, QSR/franchise operations, or energy retail at least 5 yearsleading crossu2011functional programs or partnerships.u2022 Proven delivery of complex JV or partnership programmes including contracting, governance, andmultiu2011function approvals.
u2022 Demonstrated success in unit openings, operational readiness, and synergy realisation (marketing,loyalty, fuel supply).
u2022 Strong financial acumen in feasibility, CAPEX/OPEX modelling, P&L accountability, and performanceanalytics.
u2022 Experience operating within regulated, safetyu2011critical environments and adhering to corporate policiesand audit standards.
