Role Overview
We are seeking a Regional Payments Technical Lead to join our Dubai office. This is a key role as the first technical hire in the region, contributing to our global support operations. You will manage complex payment-related issues, analyse transaction data, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimise payment processes.
As the business grows, you will also take on responsibilities for building and managing a Dubai-based technical team.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary technical contact for payment operations in the Dubai office.
- Investigate and resolve complex transaction issues, including authorisations, declines, chargebacks, refunds, and settlements.
- Analyse payment data and system logs to identify trends, optimise approval rates, and improve efficiency.
- Support merchant onboarding, integration testing, and API configurations.
- Collaborate with acquirers, card schemes, risk teams, product managers, and developers to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
- Prepare clear incident reports, root cause analyses, and performance dashboards.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation, and technical documentation.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and managing future technical team members in Dubai.
- Proven experience in a PSP, acquiring bank, or fintech environment.
- Strong understanding of payment processing, card scheme operations, and transaction lifecycles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience using spreadsheets, reconciliation reports, and transaction data.
- Familiarity with APIs, payment gateways, and integration testing (basic scripting or SQL knowledge is an advantage).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and collaborative in a multi-office environment.
- Fluency in English is essential.
