Director of Fund Control

Job Description
Dartmouth Partners are excited to work with a rapidly growing PE firm to find a Director of Fund Control.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of fund control and operations within the organization. This role ensures accurate and timely management of project funds, monitors financial compliance, coordinates disbursement activities, and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders including lenders, contractors, and project teams.The Director of Fund Control plays a critical role in mitigating financial risks and supporting project success through effective fund management and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Fund Control department to ensure accurate tracking, allocation, and disbursement of project funds in compliance with lender agreements and company policies.
- Oversee the review and approval of draw requests, change orders, and contractor invoices to ensure proper documentation and authorization.
- Coordinate with project managers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to maintain transparency and control over project budgets and cash flow.
- Develop and implement fund control policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency and compliance.
- Monitor project fund status, perform regular reconciliations, and prepare detailed reports for senior leadership and lenders.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with project funding and disbursements.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing fund control team.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as accounting, legal, and procurement to support overall financial management.
- Stay informed on industry trends, lender requirements, and regulatory changes affecting fund control practices.
Qualifications:
- Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in fund control, construction finance, or related financial management roles.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex fund control operations.
- Strong knowledge of construction lending, draw processes, and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
