PA Quality Engineer

Job Description

Job Role:

Directed Energy Research Center (DERC) is seeking a highly motivated Product Assurance & Quality Engineer to join TII and contribute to the development and implementation of a SAR spaceborne SAR payload.

The role involves overseeing the quality aspects through the project lifecycle, ensuring that the product and the processes met the pre-defined standards

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Product Assurance Plan covering both hardware and software lifecycle phases.
• Ensure compliance with applicable space industry standards (e.g., ECSS, ISO) and internal quality processes.
• Participate in project reviews, technical audits, and anomaly investigations.
• Monitor and assess risk mitigation strategies; perform risk assessments and track corrective actions.
• Interface with system engineering, mechanical, electrical, RF, and software teams to ensure proper application of quality assurance standards.
• Provide guidance on quality requirements during design, development, integration, and testing phases.
• Support configuration management activities and ensure traceability of changes.
• Assist in the preparation and review of data packages, including verification and validation documentation.
• Identify areas for improvement and contribute to continuous quality enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, physics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in PA/QA for space programs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate across diverse engineering domains.
• Familiarity with reliability, availability, maintainability and safety analysis for space projects.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong knowledge of space standards, such as the ECSS.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Proficient in English language, both written and spoken.
