Job purpose
Plan, coordinate and audit all aspects related to HSE compliance including implementation of ADNOC's codes of practice and adequacy of implementation of HSEMS expectations within ADNOC & Group of Companies' asset operations/support functions and its contractors.Provide assistance in the development, implementation and monitoring of ADNOC Group annual and 5-yearly HSE audit plan.
Job specific accountabilities (part 1)- Responsible for ensuring that ADNOC CoP on the auditing of HSEMS is updated periodically and kept up-to-date as per the relevant international standards.
- Develop and monitor the implementation of the ADNOC corporate annual/5-yearly HSE audit plan.
- Lead and conduct HSE audits as per the ADNOC annual HSE & AI audit plan.
- Provide necessary inputs to the ADNOC HSE unit management in developing annual HSE & AI assurance program.
- Develop implementation and verification guideline for the annual HSE & AI assurance program and provide necessary guidance to the group companies in developing and implementing group company specific HSE & AI assurance programs.
- Conduct adhoc audits on group companies to oversee the effective implementation of audit programs.
- Audit the performance of ADNOC group of companies' HSE management system, project HSE plans, project HSE studies and health, safety & environmental impact assessment (HSEIA).
- Review and monitor the implementation of activities/objectives associated with process safety, integrity management of ADNOC group of companies and operating companies affiliated under the Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC).
- Perform periodic/adhoc audits on the implementation of project/facility HSEIA.
- Provide updates, clarification and advice on existing HSE laws and regulations to all relevant stakeholders in ADNOC & Group companies.
- Review to ensure that HSE risk management is in place for all critical tasks by ADNOC group of companies as per the ADNOC guidelines. Keep abreast with local and international developments in the field of HSE audits.
- Ensure that audit corrective/preventive actions are commensurate with the findings and proactively follow-up until closure of all audit findings and monitor HSE audit performance indicators.
- Review and amend the company's audit and management of contractors procedures.
- Act as focal point for (third party) audits not limited to shareholders, ADNOC, accreditation, theme audits by third party.
- Ensure the implementation of level 2 internal audits, including self-assessed audits conducted at site level. Lead the implementation of level 3 audits conducted at the corporate level.
- Conduct contractors' audits to enforce and verify the implementation of company management of contractors' procedures requirements (pre-qualification, pre-mobilization, execution, demobilization).
- Develop, monitor and maintain the HSE audit performance reporting system and analyze audit performance achievements to provide inputs to HSE management meetings.
- Develop and conduct training/awareness sessions related to auditing and follow-up.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by the management to fully contribute to the wide range of unit activities.

- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC code of practices.

Internal communications & working relationships- Regular work contacts with all levels in the organization, primarily with senior and middle management during the development and follow-up of corrective/preventive action plans and all related post audit follow-ups.
- Regular contacts with similar counterparts in the ADNOC group of companies, operating companies affiliated to the Supreme Petroleum Council to provide advice and for exchange of expertise and work coordination purposes.
- Act as a single focal point responsible for all HSE audit related actions on behalf of HSE unit.
External communications & working relationships
Regular contacts with consultants, external bodies auditors, ADNOC/shareholders auditors.
Minimum qualification
Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or equivalent.
Minimum experience, knowledge & skills- 8 years' experience in HSE audits preferably in oil and gas industry. Thorough knowledge of the ISO requirements for audits. Proven record of accomplishment of leading audit teams.
- High skills and knowledge of integrated management systems, corporate safety rules and international regulations, international standards not limited to ISO14001 and OHSAS18001. Knowledge of UAE HSE related regulations and ADEHSMS preferred.
- Experience in all or at least one of the following fields: drilling, upstream operations, oil and gas construction, gas processing, petrochemicals and refinery operations.
- Certified lead auditor from a recognized association for HSE related standards (OHSAS18001, ISO14001, etc.).
- NEBOSH diploma in HSE management or equivalent is additional.
