As our product suite expands and regulatory complexity increases, we are hiring a Assistant Manager/Manager - Operational Risk to lead the implementation and expansion of the operational risk management framework of the company. The foundational elements are already in place, and your role will focus on strengthening and scaling the framework to support the evolving needs of our business.

• Develop and implement operational risk framework across the organization, covering key areas such as people risk, process risk, technology risk, external events, and compliance-related risks.
• Lead the implementation of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework across all departments, ensuring timely identification of operational risks and regular evaluation of control effectiveness.
• Manage and enhance the operational risk event program, ensuring all employees understand their responsibilities. Lead the program to enable real-time identification, escalation, and mitigation of risk, leveraging appropriate tools and technology where applicable.
• Collaborate with all departments to train employees on the RCSA and Operational Risk Event reporting frameworks, ensuring consistent understanding and effective adoption across the organization.
• Implement and enhance the control testing and loss reporting framework, collaborating with department heads to document key controls, conduct periodic testing, report findings to senior management, and monitor control failures and related losses.
• Track, monitor, and analyze Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) on a monthly basis to identify emerging risks and trends.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive operational risk management dashboards and reports to the Executive Committee, providing insights and actionable recommendations to support informed decision-making.
• Expand and strengthen the Third Party/Vendor Risk Management framework to ensure comprehensive pre-contract due diligence, ongoing performance monitoring, and risk assessment of vendors.
• Maintain and regularly update the companys risk register, ensuring all operational risks are accurately captured, assessed, and prioritized.
• Provide support to the Chief Risk Officer and Vice President, Risk in fulfilling corporate governance obligations, as needed.
• Support the annual review and update of all policies, ensuring they remain aligned with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and business needs.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to integrate risk and compliance requirements into product development and operational processes.
• Build strong relationships across the business to promote collaboration and risk awareness, supporting the development of a positive risk management culture throughout the organization.
• Report to the Vice President - Risk, with direct engagement and collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer.
• Act as deputy to the Vice President - Risk, providing support and stepping in as needed.

• At least 5 years professional experience in operational risk or enterprise risk management
• Strong analytical skills combined with a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset required to develop and support fast growing international Fintech.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach junior members of staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Experience of writing reports for executive level consideration and presenting at executive committees.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and exceed expectations.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and closely with product and engineering.

Beneficial but not essential:

• Good knowledge of financial services and trends in the consumer market.
• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Experience in other areas of regulation and compliance, including regulatory risk, risk governance, credit risk and liquidity risk.
• Educated to degree level in numerical or related discipline: accountancy, mathematics, business studies, or economics.
• A professional qualification in risk management, such as The Advanced Certificate in Operational Risk by CISI or Certificate in Operational Risk Management (IRM).
