Sales Engineer
Job Description
FPG is delighted to be working with an established Engineering and Technology company that is looking to add a Sales Engineer to its commercial function.
This role will suit someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge with customer engagement, business development, and relationship management. You'll work closely with customers to understand their requirements, support solution discussions, and help drive commercial growth across a range of sectors including critical infrastructure, energy, industrial technologies, and digital infrastructure environments.
The Role:
- Develop new business opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships
- Engage with customers to understand project requirements and business objectives
- Support technical discussions and solution recommendations
- Prepare proposals and contribute to commercial negotiations
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Monitor industry developments and identify potential growth opportunities
- Represent the business at customer meetings, events, and industry engagements
- Build relationships with consultants, contractors, system integrators, and end users
- Identify opportunities within critical infrastructure, power, energy management, and technology sectors
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in technical sales, sales engineering, business development, or a similar customer-facing role
- Experience within engineering, critical infrastructure, electrical systems, power distribution, power quality, UPS, energy management, data centre infrastructure, or related technical solution environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and stakeholder groups
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to business development
- Engineering qualification or relevant technical background preferred
Additional Experience:
- Experience working with project-based sales environments
- Exposure to international or multi-market business environments
- CRM experience is advantageous
- Additional language skills would be beneficial
