About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director - Procurement to join Dubai Holding Group Services. The Associate Director is responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities across a
defined cluster of categories within DHGS, overseeing spend analysis, market intelligence, value and cost assessments, contract development, and supplier relationship management. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
- Guide procurement team to follow standardised sourcing processes, protocols, and procurement governance.
- Ensure timely and effective delivery of procurement activities across business functions.
- Support process reviews and implement improvements across procurement workflows.
- Oversee budget adherence, flag non-compliance, and drive corrective actions where needed.
- Communicate procurement sourcing risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of innovative sourcing initiatives to optimise cost and reduce risk.
- Recommend and oversee spend analysis to identify trends and opportunities, propose cost-saving targets and secure stakeholder alignment.
- Guide execution of cost-saving and value-creation initiatives, conduct cost-benefit analysis for proposed projects.
- Monitor procurement demand across functions and ensure cost optimisation.
- Oversee market research to inform sourcing and supplier decisions, analyse benchmarking data to identify industry trends and supplier risks.
- Integrate market insights into procurement planning and strategy.
- Recommend procurement and supplier strategies aligned with business goals.
- Consolidate and prioritise procurement pipeline and targets.
- Monitor execution and track procurement performance.
- Support business units in aligning their procurement needs with Group Services frameworks.
- Lead supplier evaluation, onboarding, and performance reviews.
About you:
The preferred candidate for this role should possess the following experience and credentials:
- Based in Dubai/willing to relocate to Dubai
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain or any related field.
- Additional qualification such as CIPS, Project Management etc. certification preferred
- Minimum of 1012 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, with at least 35 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, spend analysis, supplier relationship management, and procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa). Familiarity with data analytics tools is an advantage.
- Proven ability to align procurement strategies with business objectives and deliver measurable financial and operational value.
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving performance in complex environments.
- Ability to interpret complex data, assess market trends, and make strategic recommendations that influence procurement decisions.
