Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented mechanical engineer specializing to join our construction supervision team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will oversee the mechanical aspects of a large project ensuring compliance with design specifications and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise mechanical installations on construction sites including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Review and approve mechanical shop drawings and submittals ensuring adherence to project specifications
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and local building codes
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Prepare detailed reports on construction progress, quality control measures, and safety protocols
  • Analyze and optimize mechanical systems for energy efficiency and performance
  • Manage project timelines and budgets related to mechanical aspects of construction
  • Participate in project meetings and provide expert technical guidance to the team
  • Ensure all mechanical installations meet required standards and UAE regulations
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies for mechanical systems and installations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on construction supervision
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations in the UAE, particularly those related to mechanical engineering
