Role Purpose- The Business Development Manager is responsible for customer acquisition and achievement of revenue growth targets by keeping the business competitive and innovative. He/she is responsible for maximizing the sales team potential, crafting sales plans, and justifying plans to the top management.
Description
Sales Strategy- Design and implement a strategic business plan that covers sales, revenue, and expense controls and expands company's customer base
- Set sales targets with the sales team for allotted regions and channels
- Plan and implement promotional calendar along with clients from the allocated BTL budget to increase brand awareness & brand equity
- Agree on an annual volume budget with clients, monitoring it on a monthly basis, identifying deviations and proposing actions for those which are below the target
- Negotiate the prices with clients based on the target set, the competitors prices, price positioning in the retail, market trends and market information
- Visit retail chains to understand the competitors activities, price positioning, trends
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- Ensure customer queries are attended on time up to their satisfaction
- Develop category specific annual / quarterly / monthly budgets, demand plans and report against the same
- Prepare and present inputs related to departmental/ project budgets (resource requirements) and manage / control overall financial performance of the function by monitoring actual cost against budgets
- Lead, manage and execute the specific projects/ tasks assigned by the management from time to time as per business needs, with in the allocated time frame
- Coach, mentor and guide the team and help them realise their potential
- Conduct periodic performance reviews and provide developmental inputs as required
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet Agthia and department requirements, policies, and standards
- Bachelor's degree in business administration
- 6-10 years of functional experience out of which 3-5 years should be in equivalent management role
- Prior experience of Account Manager/Key Account Supervisor/Area Sales Manager would be a plus
- Good knowledge of sales and marketing principles
- Basic understanding of accounting and finance related to sales
- Basic knowledge of production and supply chain process
