Job Description

Position Summary:

The Community & Outreach Specialist will cultivate and manage relationships across the startup ecosystem engaging entrepreneurs, investors, universities, and corporate partners to advance our venture-building and IP commercialization mission.

This role involves representing the organization's brand, building a vibrant community network, and acting as a liaison with key stakeholders. The Specialist will lead outreach and communication initiatives (both online and in-person) to raise awareness of our programs and foster collaboration among partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ecosystem Engagement: Map and engage with the regional innovation ecosystem. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders (startups, academic labs, corporate R&D, investor networks, etc.) to expand our partner network.
  • Event Planning & Management: Organize and host networking events, workshops, and conferences (demo days, pitch nights, mixers) that connect entrepreneurs with mentors, investors, and industry experts.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and develop strategic partnerships (e.g., with universities, incubators, corporations) that align with our IP commercialization goals.
  • Communications & Outreach: Develop and implement a communications strategy (social media, newsletters, press outreach) to promote our programs and brand.
  • Brand Representation: Serve as a spokesperson at industry events, conferences, and community meetings. Present program offerings and success stories to external audiences and media.
  • Community Management: Manage online community channels (forums, social media groups, email lists) to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in community outreach, partnership development, or communicationsideally within the tech startup, venture building, or IP commercialization sector.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute events and campaigns.
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the local and global innovation ecosystem.
  • Experience with branding and marketing tools (social media platforms, CRM/newsletter software, etc.).
  • Ability to craft compelling communications materials.
  • Multicultural awareness and ability to represent the organization internationally.
