Role Description This is a part-time, on-site 3D Printing Engineer role based in Dubai. The 3D Printing Engineer will design, prototype, and produce 3D-printed objects and components that support Antigen Music's brand, performances, and promotional activities.Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and optimizing 3D models for printing, operating and maintaining 3D printers, selecting materials, and troubleshooting print issues to ensure reliable, high-quality output. The role also involves collaborating with artists, designers, and production staff to translate creative concepts into functional, manufacturable designs.
The engineer will document processes, manage print queues, ensure safe use of equipment, and continuously refine designs based on feedback and testing.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in 3D Printing and related printing technologies, including machine setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles, with the ability to design functional parts suitable for real-world use.
- Experience in Product Design, including transforming creative concepts into practical, manufacturable physical objects.
- Hands-on skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar) for creating and modifying 3D models.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with artists, designers, and production teams and to clearly document workflows and requirements.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to iterate based on testing and feedback.
- Experience with material selection for 3D printing (e.g., PLA, ABS, resin) and basic post-processing techniques (sanding, priming, finishing) is beneficial.
- Background in industrial design, product engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; previous work in creative, music, or entertainment environments is a plus.
