Role Description

Familiarity with welding inspection is essential, and knowledge of surface preparation, painting, and powder coating processes is a strong advantage.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated parts, assemblies, welds, and fittings.
2. Verify dimensions, tolerances, and quality as per approved drawings and standards.
3. Check weld preparations, joint fit-ups, and visual quality of welds.
4. Identify weld defects and ensure rework is carried out as per procedure.
5. Inspect blasting surface profiles and cleanliness prior to coating.
6. Evaluate powder coating procedures and quality where applicable.
7. Maintain inspection reports, non-conformance records, and corrective actions.
8. Ensure traceability and documentation of materials and processes.
9. Promote a safety-first and quality-centric culture on the shop floor.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma or Industrial Training Certificate or equivalent.
2. CSWIP or AWS for welding inspection will be an added advantage.
3. BGAS or NACE Level 1 or 2 for coating inspection will be highly desirable.

Experience:

1. 5 to 6 years of hands-on inspection experience in a metal fabrication environment.
2. Experience in structural steel, piping, and sheet metal part inspection.
3. Strong background in welding processes such as SMAW, MIG, TIG, FCAW etc.
4. Familiarity with blasting, painting, and powder coating inspection is desirable.
