WSP Middle East is seeking a highly skilled HSE Officer you have to ensure that Health & Safety policies and procedures are effectively embedded across the projects, sites and office environments in compliance with local and international rules and regulations.
Your new role, what's involved- Assist in ensuring the project meets WSP HSEQ / client HSEQ Management System requirements to protect personnel.
- Monitor the implementation of health and safety arrangements at the project site level in accordance with legal and client requirements.
- Review contractors health, safety, and environmental plans, risk assessments, and method statements against legal and client requirements before work begins.
- Plan daily morning site visits to ensure health and safety measures are in place before work begins.
- Conduct weekly joint HSE inspections with other inspectors and contractor personnel, ensuring all corrective/preventive actions are closed out.
- Initiate and test emergency response plans, ensuring drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
- Follow up on contractors incident investigation reports, ensuring corrective actions are identified and closed out to prevent recurrence.
- Provide necessary technical guidance for accident prevention.
- Conduct regular site safety reviews.
- Assist in liaising with enforcement authorities (e.g., PCFC, EHS Checks). Prepare and submit monthly HSE reports in conjunction with contractor personnel to the client.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence.
- Fluent in English.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant subject.
- Relevant Health and Safety qualifications, with a minimum of NEBOSH
- International General Certificate (IGC).
- Minimum of 5 years experience in dealing with infrastructure projects.
