Senior Specialist, Maritime Strategy, is responsible for driving the strategic direction and performance optimization of Abu Dhabi maritime business operations. Contribute to shaping our organization's long-term goals, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring optimal resource allocation within the maritime sector.

All activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation. The Senior Specialist is responsible for implementation, management, and maintenance of procedures, processes, and systems that ensure compliance to AD Maritime, corporate and public authorities, excellence, sustainability, maturity, and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for the optimum performance of maritime sector strategy, aligning it with the overall business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for maritime operations, providing regular insights and recommendations to the line manager.
  • Identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and cost optimization while ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure optimal resource allocation within the maritime sector. Allocate budgets, manpower, and other resources in alignment with the strategic priorities.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and progress toward strategic goals within the maritime sector.
  • Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to guide decision-making.
  • Support in development of required internal and external business processes and procedures to fulfill the responsibilities under AD Maritime mandate.
  • Review and submit all the documents related to processes for review and approval of corporate authority.
  • Align with relevant corporate authority divisions for follow-up on the approval and implementation of the processes.
  • Prepare responses to entities' inquiries and other correspondence.
  • Maintain divisional responsibilities related to business excellence and sustainability through metrics and analytics.
  • Maintain document control and quality oversight of any permits, licenses, NOCs formats, or QMS certifications and awards.
  • Maintain document control and quality records and adherence to records retention policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and consistent escalation of events.
  • Establish corrective and preventive actions to mitigate potential or actual noncompliance risks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive divisional audit readiness program to ensure internal and external compliance.
  • Prepare all the required documents or Statements of Work (SOW) for tendering purposes.
  • Support ensuring availability of required resources to carry out all the tasks related to AD Maritime.
  • Ensure that relevant divisional procedures and processes for all the divisions are documented and adhered to.
  • Identify the technology needs that ensure that divisional processes are performed efficiently and cost effectively (in coordination with other divisions).
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Manager.
  • Content creation, report writing, and presentations at required level.
  • Coordinate AD Maritime annual report compilation, engage with divisional level for submission, and arrange for publishing at required level within stipulated time range.
  • Plan maritime implementation monitoring tool as sole custodian for management, update, progress review, and coordination with stakeholders for monitoring tool required data and reporting.
  • Plan maritime implementation committee members meeting coordination and provide all required support.
  • Prepare responses to regulatory entities' inquiries and other correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience preferred with a lead role in strategic planning, management, and performance in public and/or corporate business units.
  • High level of computer proficiency with expertise in spreadsheets, data trending, and charting programs required.
  • Ability to train others in performance management, in general and specifically as relates to others' job functions/level of responsibility in the organization.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills in team-based management.
  • Familiar with regulatory compliance issues.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to express complex concepts clearly and simply.
  • Good facilitation and presentation skills.
