Job Description
China State Construction Middle East (CSCEC ME) is hiring a Senior Safety Officerto join our team for infrastructure and large-scale construction projects in the UAE. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations, and supporting the HSE Manager in maintaining a safe working environment across all project activities.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs on site.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and control measures for ongoing activities.
- Ensure full compliance with UAE HSE regulations, company policies, and project safety requirements.
- Support and assist the HSE Manager in daily HSE operations and reporting activities.
- Lead site safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and safety trainings.
- Monitor infrastructure and micro tunneling activities to ensure safe work practices are maintained.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and site personnel to maintain a strong safety culture.
- Mentor and guide junior safety staff and site teams on HSE best practices.
- Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, reports, permits, and records as required.
- Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in the UAE construction industry.
- Proven experience in infrastructure and large-scale construction projects.
- Strong background in safety leadership, risk assessment, and hazard control implementation.
- Experience in supporting HSE Managers with daily operational activities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor site personnel.
- Thorough knowledge of UAE safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Hands-on experience in micro tunneling and infrastructure works is mandatory.
- Preferred professional certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certifications.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
