JOB TITLE & JOB DESCRIPTION:SITE INSPECTOR - MECHANICAL

John R Harris & Partners Dubai is currently looking for Site Inspectors - Mechanical to join our growing Supervision team to support recent project appointments in UAE.

The role involves inspection of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems typically installed in hotels, resorts, and hospitality facilities.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect mechanical installations including HVAC systems, plumbing, drainage, firefighting systems, LPG/SNG Gas networks, and mechanical equipment.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved shop drawings, project specifications, and method statements.
• Verify compliance with UAE authority requirements and international standards.
• Witness testing, commissioning, and performance verification of mechanical systems.
• Monitor installation works in guest rooms, kitchens, laundry areas, spas, plant rooms, and other hospitality-specific facilities.
• Ensure mechanical installations meet hospitality operational requirements such as guest comfort, noise control, ventilation, and hygiene standards.
• Coordinate with architects and interior designers to ensure mechanical services align with design standards.
• Review contractor inspection requests and perform site inspections.
• Prepare inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action follow-ups.
• Maintain records of inspections, tests, and approvals.
• Review material submittals related to mechanical systems.
• Witness pressure tests, duct leakage tests, flushing, balancing, and system commissioning.
• Verify operation of mechanical equipment including chillers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems, and hot water systems.
• Integration checks for BMS and Fire alarm systems.
• Confirm mechanical systems meet design performance requirements.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural inspectors to ensure integrated services installation.
• Attend site coordination meetings with contractors and consultants.
• Monitor contractor progress and quality of mechanical works.
• Ensure works comply with UAE codes and authority regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 58 years of experience in mechanical inspection within construction projects.
• At least 23 years of experience in hospitality projects (hotels, resorts, serviced apartments).
• Experience working with consultants in the UAE is preferred.
