Junior Maintenance Technician - Cargo

Job purpose

To provide required support to technicians and assist in carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair on all equipment, vehicles and plant maintained by various dnata Technical Services Workshops.This includes housekeeping and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
In this role you will:
- Plan individual tasks on a daily basis in their area of work.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and other work areas and take proper care of tools.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults or defects effectively on equipment, vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that downtime is minimized.
- Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book or work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management Systems.
- Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment, vehicle and plant damage.
- Inform the Maintenance Technician or Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts and tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
- Assist in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all legal and regulatory requirements) on the various equipment, vehicles and plants to ensure reliable and optimum utilization of the same.
- Assist in the daily inspection of all equipment, vehicles and plant for operational reliability and safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
- Execute all allocated tasks related to ULD repairs and assembly activities as per the procedure mentioned in MOE, manufacturers recommendation, EASA and GCAA regulation, and safety standards.
- Assist maintenance technicians to maintain and repair facility equipment including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
- Assist in maintaining and repairing Ground Power Unit (GPU), Preconditioned Air (PCA) and generators.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Two years trade certificate course in an engineering field.
- Experience in maintenance - facilities, auto, electric or civil mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and/or cargo handling industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, automobile, air conditioning and refrigeration systems of light vehicles or material handling equipment and systems. Experience in maintenance of ground support equipment or heavy vehicles would be an advantage.
- Any specialized training on hydraulics, lifting equipment, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, PLCs, AC-DC motor control systems, traction batteries and chargers would be an advantage.
- Proven ability to communicate in English (verbal and written).
- Good understanding of the MOE, EASA, GCAA regulation and safety standards required at the ULD workshop (applicable only for ULD section).
