Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis I - Bakery to join our team. As a vital member of our bakery department, you will assist in creating delicious baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.- Assist in the preparation and production of various baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts
- Follow recipes and baking instructions accurately to ensure consistent quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with other kitchen team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation of bakery ingredients and supplies
- Support senior bakers in developing new recipes and improving existing ones
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment and tools properly
- Contribute to the overall guest experience by producing high-quality baked products
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
- Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a bakery or food service role preferred
- Basic baking skills and knowledge of various baking techniques
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and attention to detail
- Familiarity with bakery equipment and tools
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene procedures
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Passion for baking and willingness to learn new techniques
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to take direction from senior staff
