Job Description

Science & STEM Teacher — Dubai

Including AI, Coding & Robotics

Location: Dubai, UAE

Type: Full-Time

A premium international micro-school in Dubai is seeking a Science & STEM Teacher to lead its Primary and Lower Secondary Science and STEM programme for children aged 6–14.

This is a highly personalised, boutique learning environment serving approximately 30–50 students in micro-classrooms of 5–6 children. The programme is designed for families seeking a more academically ambitious, individualised, and future-focused alternative to traditional schooling.

The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of Science teaching across the primary and lower secondary years, including familiarity with UK Science curriculum standards. However, rather than relying primarily on textbook-led instruction, the teacher will be expected to bring Science to life through experiments, inquiry-based projects, engineering challenges, demonstrations, observation, discussion, and real-world application.

The role also includes responsibility for developing students exposure to STEM, including age-appropriate AI concepts, coding, robotics, design thinking, problem-solving, and applied technology.

Essential Requirements
  • Strong command of spoken and written English
  • Minimum 5 years experience teaching Science and/or STEM to primary and/or lower secondary students
  • Experience teaching children within the 6–14 age range
  • Strong understanding of primary and lower secondary Science, ideally with familiarity with UK Science curriculum standards

  • Teaching certification preferred
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in STEM education, including coding, robotics, engineering, and age-appropriate AI concepts
  • Ability to translate scientific concepts into engaging, hands-on experiments, demonstrations, investigations, and project-based learning experiences
  • Ability to teach Science with academic rigour while making learning practical, inquiry-based, and engaging
  • Open-mindedness to learning and implementing pioneering teaching methodologies
  • Professional presence suitable for a premium education environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to both children and adults
  • Highly organised, flexible, and adaptable
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovation mindset
Core Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Science lessons for students aged 6–14, aligned broadly with UK Science standards where appropriate
  • Teach Science through hands-on experiments, inquiry, observation, demonstrations, practical investigations, and real-world application
  • Develop students understanding of core scientific concepts across biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and environmental science, appropriate to age and stage
  • Plan and deliver STEM lessons and projects integrating AI, coding, robotics, engineering design, and applied problem-solving where appropriate
  • Create a learning environment that fosters curiosity, scientific reasoning, critical thinking, creativity, and innovation
  • Design and implement experiments, STEM challenges, research tasks, and project-based learning activities using appropriate tools, manipulatives, lab resources, and digital platforms
  • Differentiate instruction to meet individual student learning needs and support strong academic progress
  • Observe, assess, and document student progress in Science and STEM
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and academic leadership to integrate Science and STEM across the wider curriculum
  • Support students in developing scientific vocabulary, research skills, structured reasoning, presentation skills, and confidence in explaining their thinking
  • Ensure practical activities are delivered safely, with appropriate planning, supervision, and risk awareness
  • Supervise and support students during lessons, practical activities, school events, and enrichment activities as required
  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, and school-wide initiatives
  • Support after-school STEM clubs, competitions, showcases, or enrichment activities when required
  • Follow all school health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Participate in the annual professional development cycle and demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with regard to all school matters at all times
