Job Description
Job Purpose:
To ensure all commercial food labelling at Food Point complies with local and GCC export and border regulations by reviewing and validating labelling procedures, managing product registrations with regulatory authorities (such as SFDA and Dubai Municipality), overseeing export documentation and permits, and monitoring regulatory changes.This supports product acceptance in target markets, mitigates compliance risks, and maintains uninterrupted market access through proactive compliance management and continuous improvement of labelling processes.
Job Context:
The role ensures compliance with local and GCC regulatory requirements for product labelling and export documentation, including managing registrations with authorities like SFDA and Dubai Municipality. It involves verifying Arabic product information, monitoring regulatory changes, identifying compliance risks, and driving process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.The jobholder collaborates with internal teams to provide regulatory guidance and support timely market access in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Key Result Areas:
- Verify all product and label information in Arabic to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Review export documentation, including region-specific permits and approvals (e.g., SFDA, MOCCAE), country requirements, Saudi-specific HS code documentation, and registration obligations with export authorities, to ensure full compliance with local and GCC food safety and border regulations.
- Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions to prevent product rejection or penalties.
- Monitor regulatory changes and promptly communicate updates promptly to internal teams like Food Safety, Quality, and Supply Chain Logistics.
- Manage product registrations with Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) and other GCC authorities to maintain uninterrupted market access.
- Coordinate submissions and updates in Dubai Municipalitys regulatory platforms, ensuring accurate record keeping.
- Improve labelling procedures to enhance regulatory compliance.
- Conduct compliance audits to assess adherence to labelling and export standards across the business.
- Provide expert regulatory guidance on export and border compliance to internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate regulatory implications of new business initiatives to ensure compliance before market launch.
Education Qualification:
- Higher Diploma in Food Regulatory Compliance or Food Science
- Certification or Degree in Arabic Language Proficiency
Work Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in regulatory compliance or related roles, preferably within the food industry or export environments
Skills:
- Proficient in Arabic for label and document verification
- Good understanding of food labelling and export regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective stakeholder communication
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
