Main Purpose of Job:
Reporting directly to the Area Finance Manager- Middle East, the role will be to assist the manager in the efficient management of the department and ensure that the department provides accurate and efficient finance & accounting services to all the businesses.The key role is to independently handle the responsibility of taxation (direct & indirect), regulatory filings, compliances, transfer pricing, audits, etc., across the UAE in line with company policies.
The job will also involve active engagement with the local finance team, compiling yearly budget preparation, advising local taxation & statutory compliance on new projects/business. The position shall involve ensuring consistent adherence to corporate policies and procedures of the accounting, taxation, compliance, etc.
Key Accountabilities:
Accounting: The job holder must ensure proper maintenance of books of accounts, follow ethics, policies, procedures, and controls as per accounting standards in order to facilitate a smooth running of financial activities.
Finance: The job holder must manage and use financial resources very effectively in the best interest of the organisation, using skills and knowledge to ensure controls and optimum use of working Capital Management.
Taxation & Statutory compliances: The jobholder must timely and accurately handle taxation, regulatory filings, transfer pricing, and timely update of all statutory compliances of the company and local statutory bodies from time to time to ensure all laws of the land are adhered.
Audits: The Jobholder must assist the local finance team and Area Finance Manager, handle and perform tasks for the smooth conduct of Internal and statutory audits related to accounts and finance. Responsible for all pre- and post-preparations of audit activities to ensure smooth functioning of the organisation processes and maintain the healthy financial status of the company.
Budget preparation. The job holder must engage with the local team and assist the Area Finance Manager with accurate and timely preparation of the yearly budget, continuous monitoring and evaluation of actuals vs budget, and highlighting the deviation to the Manager.
Management reporting: Accurate preparation and ensuring timely submission of regular reports to the local, regional & group management. Responsible for supporting and assisting local management with various information and reports required for the smooth conduct of business.
Accounts receivable/Accounts payable/Overheads. Assist in monitoring the DA/Invoice turnaround and debt collections with the purpose of maintaining low average DA days, improving cash flow, controlling overheads, and taking corrective actions.
Teamwork: Should efficiently liaise, coordinate within the finance team, and support and assist the Area Finance Manager, and also work closely with all govt personnel, vendors, bankers, consultants, and external auditors for the smooth conduct of activities
Effective supervision: Motivate and develop direct reports such that division objectives are established and communicated, individual performance is supported, monitored, and reviewed, resulting in optimum utilization of manpower. Identify the training needs of individual staff members through performance appraisals.
The postholder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager and ensure full utilization of all ISS systems according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Deliverables:
- Timely & accurate handling of Taxation, regulatory filings, and adherence to statutory compliance of entities within the UAE.
- Handling of audits (internal, statutory & group), tax / statutory inspections, etc.
- Timely support on management reporting, Budgets/forecasts, businesses / new projects.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
Essential:
- Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
- Minimum 03 years’ experience in handling Taxation, Transfer pricing, audits, and statutory filings.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Systems knowledge
Desirable:
- Shipping background is an advantage
- Knowledge of UAE taxation rules & compliance.
- Functional experience in finance & accounts, MIS reporting, etc.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
Graduation in Commerce/ Professional Degree in Finance (CA/ACCA/CMA- minimum Intermediate) / Taxation
