JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance & Control Inspector

This is 12-month contract position based in Abu Dhabi. This position will be based in the office with regular field and yard visits.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Quality Assurance & Control Inspectoris a key member of the multi-disciplinary Operations team, supporting the safe and efficient execution of drilling, completions, and pipeline construction activities. This role ensures all operations are conducted in a safe, environmentally and socially responsible manner, in line with the client standards and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in contractor oversight and third-party inspections, including prior roles representing an Oil & Gas Operator. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that appropriate quality systems, tools, and equipment are in place to support effective field execution.

This role requires proactive engagement with contractors to uphold high standards of quality and safety, while fostering positive, collaborative relationships. Working closely with operations and cross-functional teams, the incumbent will contribute to successful project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee inspection activities for oilfield equipment including pipelines, pressure vessels, structural components, and downhole assemblies to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Review material certificates, inspection reports, and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify fabrication, welding, coating, and assembly activities against approved procedures and specifications.
  • Identify non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution.
  • Participate in audits, client inspections, and project quality reviews.
  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with international oil & gas standards, local regulations, and the client unconventional requirements.
  • Support the integration of QA/QC requirements into tender documents, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Monitor and report inspection results, including compliance and non-compliance metrics.
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify adherence to HSE expectations and QA/QC performance standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Management of Change (MOC) processes and approved operating programs.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and scope change activities, ensuring risks are properly assessed and documented.
  • Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies, methodologies, and services.
  • Influence contractor performance through assurance reviews, audits, and ongoing engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations team to support overall delivery objectives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant oil & gas industry experience, including at least 5 years in a QA/QC Inspector role with an Operator or equivalent.
  • Strong, demonstrated commitment to a Safety First culture.
  • Hands-on field inspection experience, ideally with oilfield service companies.
  • Degree or diploma in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Experience with unconventional oil & gas operations is an asset.
  • Proven problem-solving capability with the ability to assess risk and support operational decision-making.
  • International experience with an appreciation of diverse operational and cultural environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and manage conflict where required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and influence in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development in inspection and quality disciplines.
  • Valid UAE driver's license (or eligible for conversion).
  • Willingness to be based full-time in Abu Dhabi.
