Job summary
The logistics supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse and logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory control, team supervision, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.The role ensures that logistics activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
Key responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily logistics operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Monitor and manage inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee inventory management, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation processes.
- Liaise with 3PL partners, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and operational issues.
- Prepare and analyze logistics reports, such as order fulfillment, transportation costs, and warehouse productivity.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of logistics staff and warehouse operators.
- Optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time (e.g., GRNs, DNs, invoices, transport documents).
- Support system updates (e.g., WMS) and ensure accurate data entry and usage.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in logistics systems and tools (e.g., WMS, ERP, Excel).
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, shipping procedures, and warehouse best practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Experience working with 3PLs or in a distribution center environment.
- Familiarity with safety and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
- Ability to work flexible hours as per operational needs.
