Vice President - Powerplant
- JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
The VP - Powerplant will oversee technical diligence, lease transitions, compliance, and asset delivery across global markets. Managing repairs, work scopes, and vendor selection, the role ensures the highest operational standards are maintained.
The incumbent manages a team of Technical Managers to make sure that assets remain well maintained, while optimizing TAT and Pre-Purchase Inspections Process. The incumbent will negotiate technical aspects of lease agreements, purchase/sale contracts, and support complex transactions.
Close collaboration with internal operations teams, clients, and external stakeholders is essential to maintain transparent reporting and asset performance. The role requires a proactive leader,
capable of managing simultaneous projects, driving excellence, and fostering global relationships. The VP - Powerplant must possess deep technical acumen in narrowbody and widebody engines, combined with strong communication and cross-cultural engagement skills.This role involves travel and demands flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to team success.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Policies and Procedures:
Ensure strict adherence to approved policies and procedures within the team and actively support
the organization in achieving and maintaining high-quality standards across all operational
aspects.
Continuously identify areas for enhancement within policies and procedures, suggesting updates,and tracking improvements based on practical experience and feedback.
Review and assist with the negotiation of lease agreements, purchase/sale contracts, and Letters
of Intent (LOIs) to mitigate technical risks. Ensure compliance with technical lease provisions and
liaise with internal and external teams to meet reporting and regulatory requirements.- Portfolio Management and Valuation Support:
Lead the technical management of a diverse portfolio of commercial aircraft engines, ensuring
asset performance and compliance. Manage a team of Technical Managers to ensure assets
remain well-maintained, while optimizing TAT and the Pre-Purchase Inspections Process.
Provide critical support in underwriting engine forecasts, valuations, and strategic decision-making for new investments.- Technical Oversight and Transition Management:

Minimum Qualifications:

Licensure/Professional
Membership) Bachelors degree is required. If the degree is not in a relevant field such as Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, the candidate must possess a recognized technical qualification in lieu of relevance.A Masters degree relevant to the role (e.g., Engineering Management, Aerospace Systems, or Business Administration) is preferred but not required. FAA or EASA Powerplant License, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification, is required.
Minimum Experience: At least 10 years of experience in powerplant management, technical operations, or engine leasing/MRO roles, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry. 5 to 8 years of experience in project management or technical leadership capacity, managing engine repair projects, lease transitions, or cross-functional initiatives.Experience in lease return/redelivery, technical due diligence, contract interpretation, or repair oversight is highly desirable.

- Market and Industry Sector Knowledge: Has an in-depth understanding and maintains currency of the relevant global and regional market and industry sectors, Sanad operations and strategy and incorporates this into strategic and project decision making processes.
- Technical Expertise: A broad understanding of narrowbody and widebody engine types, specifically including CFM56-5B, CFM56-7B, V2500-A5, and Trent700 engines.
- Contract and lease knowledge: Demonstrated experience in reviewing and interpreting technical
provisions of aircraft and engine lease and purchase agreements, along with experience in auditing
technical records, including engine LLP traceability.- Business Planning and Review: Able to collaborate with external business stakeholders to implement
business strategic plans, KPIs and milestones; and implement any plan and or process for executive
oversight.- Generates Business Unit Planning: Capable of developing and implementing operational plans to
