Job Description
The Technical Director plays a pivotal role in driving the technical strategy and execution for the Consumer Solutions business unit across the Middle East and Africa. This position leads a team of application and laboratory professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-impact technical support that strengthens customer relationships and enhances product performance in key markets.
Acting as a key interface between regional customers, commercial teams, and global R&D, the Technical Director steers the development, adaptation, and continuous improvement of innovative chemical solutions tailored to regional market needs.The role also supports strategic portfolio management, partnering with the Sales Director to align product offerings with business objectives and market dynamics.
In addition to technical leadership, the Technical Director ensures operational excellence in laboratory managementoverseeing safety, compliance, and quality control in accordance with international standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 17025. This role is critical in translating technical capabilities into commercial value and sustaining the companys competitive edge in the personal and home care segments.
Profile Requirements:
- A degree in Chemical Engineering or a Bachelor of Science with a focus in polymer chemistry, materials science, or a related discipline.
- Deep technical expertise in personal care formulation, with a strong understanding of application chemistry.
- 5+ years of proven experience in delivering technical support within the personal care or household care sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in managing direct customer interactions and fostering strong client relationships.
- Demonstrated success in setting strategic goals and consistently achieving performance targets.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to organize and guide technical teams effectively; highly self-driven and proactive.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel across the EMEA region, up to 50% of the time.
- Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP R/3, CRM platforms (such as Salesforce), and other digital tools for data management and reporting.
