Corporate Recovery Manager - Special Assets Management

Job Description

Job Purpose:

To manage a portfolio of allocated classified or defaulted accounts and to ensure maximization of recoveries from such allocated portfolio through restructuring, recoveries and/or realization of collateral to result in the maximum reduction in the outstanding of the allocated portfolio.

Proactively develop, evaluate, and implement strategies for the assigned portfolio (including NPLs and Written-Off accounts) to minimize loss/provisions and maximize recoveries.

Job Accountabilities:

• Achieve the financial & non-financial recovery targets as set out in OKRs/KPIs.
• Identify and develop potential strategies to maximize recoveries from the allocated portfolio to achieve the Units Plan.
• Prepare credit review proposals to recommend restructuring or settlement plans supported by all required documents including financial analysis and assessment of customers ability to adhere to the restructuring or settlement plan.
• Review the risk rating of the accounts in the allocated portfolio and propose amendments as required to be in line with the approved internal policies and procedures and CBUAE guidelines.
• Meticulous review of the assigned portfolio and to prepare individual account plans for the portfolio under management and implementation of the same.
• Propose legal action wherever necessary to safeguard the banks interests. Coordinate with the internal and external legal counsels to identify the appropriate legal strategy, attend all legal and court calls, and follow up on the legal proceedings for the cases under litigation within the assigned portfolio.
• Pro-actively follow up on the cases assigned to collection agencies to maximize the recovery.
• Ensure compliance to the Banks policies and procedures. Attend to regulatory authorities, internal and external audit, and compliance requirements wherever needed.
• Contribute to the preparation and presentation of all MIS reports, recovery budgets, and monthly / quarterly provisions reviews as required.
• Recoveries from the allocated portfolio
• Release of IIS and ECL from the allocated portfolio
• Minimize further charge of IIS and ECL on the allocated portfolio.
• Number of restructuring or settlement plans approved and implemented from the allocated portfolio
• Periodic rating amendment reviews on accounts in the allocated portfolio to be submitted in a timely manner.
• Periodic reviews to be completed and submitted as per approved policies and procedures
• Execution judgements and enforcement of the same against the borrowers and their assets.
• Recovery from the assigned accounts.
• Satisfactory internal / external reports with minimal comments from audit and compliance.
• Satisfactory Compliance Reports
• Number of expired KYC
• Timely presentation of reports
• Accuracy of reporting

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or similar.
• Minimum 8 years experience in Corporate Banking of which at least 5 years in Corporate Recovery.
• Strong knowledge in credit / operations / legal & Risk
• Strong Financial Analysis/analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Capable of analyzing the different situations and strategies and select the best course of action.
• Credit analysis and account management.
• Good presentation skills.
• Equally capable of working alone or in a group.
