Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SAP Finance Business Analyst to act as the bridge between Finance stakeholders and the global S/4HANA program team for a major rollout across luxury retail operations in the Middle East. You will gather, analyze, and document finance and controlling requirements, support solution design, validate configuration, and coordinate testing and training to ensure successful deployment of S/4HANA Finance (FI, CO, CO-PA) processes in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering- Engage Finance, Accounting, and Retail Operations stakeholders to capture business requirements for FI, CO, and CO-PA processes.
- Document local statutory, tax (VAT/e-invoicing), and reporting needs in the Middle East and ensure alignment with global template.
- Identify and communicate fit-gap items between the global S/4HANA design and local business practices.
- Work with Solution Architects and configuration teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Assist in the design of finance master data structures (chart of accounts, cost centers, profit centers, value fields).
- Support integration design for POS, eCommerce, payment platforms, HR/payroll, and merchandising systems.
- Prepare and maintain test scripts for Finance scenarios (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, CO-PA reporting).
- Coordinate and execute unit, integration, and UAT testing; log, track, and retest defects.
- Validate FICO-PA reconciliations and month-end closing scenarios during testing cycles.
- Support finance data migration activities: mapping, cleansing, validation of master data and balances.
- Assist in finance cutover planning, execution, and post-go-live reconciliation.
- Develop end-user training materials and quick reference guides for finance processes.
- Deliver or support training sessions for finance users in the region.
- Act as first-line support for finance users during hypercare.
- Act as the finance liaison between local business teams and the global program office.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to regional finance leadership.
- Ensure local compliance requirements are met without deviating from the global process design unless formally approved.
- 5+ years of experience as a Finance Business Analyst or Functional Consultant in SAP FI/CO (CO-PA exposure required).
- At least 12 full-cycle SAP implementations, preferably with S/4HANA.
- Strong understanding of finance processes in retail: POS settlement, promotions/discount accounting, intercompany, multi-channel revenue flows.
- Knowledge of Middle East statutory and tax requirements (VAT, e-invoicing) in at least one GCC country.
- Ability to document business processes and functional requirements in a clear, structured way.
- Experience working in global template rollout programs with fit-gap methodology.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and facilitation abilities; comfortable leading workshops.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
- Fluent English; Arabic or French an asset.
