Job Description

Integration & Testing Technician – Field Operations (UAV R&D)

Role Overview

As an Integration & Testing Technician for Field Operations, you will be the tactical link between our R&D facility and real-world deployment. You will be responsible for the final assembly, pre-flight preparation, and operational support of UAV systems.

This role requires a unique blend of technical precision in the workshop and boots-on-the-ground resilience during extended field campaigns. You will often be the face of the company when working alongside external clients and must maintain peak equipment performance in challenging, and occasionally hazardous environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tactical Field Support: Execute setup, teardown, and maintenance of UAV platforms and Ground Control Station (GCS) hardware during multi-day field test campaigns.
  • Pre-Flight & Post-Flight Operations: Conduct rigorous pre-flight inspections, battery/fuel management, and post-flight structural assessments to ensure safety and data integrity.
  • Various Environment Operations: Safely manage equipment and operations in diverse conditions, including remote terrain, extreme weather, and areas requiring strict adherence to explosive or high-energy safety protocols.
  • Rapid Repair & Troubleshooting: Perform flight-line diagnostics and emergency repairs—including repair, mechanical adjustments, and component swaps—to minimize downtime during testing.
  • Logistics & Inventory: Manage mobile workshop inventory, ensuring all specialized tools, spare parts, and safety equipment (PPE) are accounted for and mission-ready.

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Experience: 3–5 years of experience in UAV operations, aerospace maintenance, or a similar field-heavy technical role (e.g., oil & gas, defense, or robotics).
  • Operational Resilience: Proven ability to work in outdoor environments for extended periods and maintain focus in high-pressure or hazardous settings.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings to troubleshoot complex systems on the fly.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (multimeters, signal testers). Experience with heavy-lift UAV platforms is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain professional and helpful when interfacing with external stakeholders and clients.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift and maneuver equipment up to 25kg and remain active on your feet in rugged terrain.
  • Travel & Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently and work non-standard hours. • Others: Valid driver's license, first aid certification and experience with hazardous material handling (LiPo safety, fuel handling) are significant pluses.
