Arabian Gulf Business Insight (agbi.com), is a premium business news platform dedicated to creating insightful content for senior business leaders across the MENA region and global markets. We are looking for a talented Social Media Manager with media experience to lead our social media strategy, amplify our editorial voice, and connect with our professional audience across established and emerging platforms.
This is a two-year fixed-term contract role based in our Dubai Media City newsroom.
Role Scope & Responsibilities:
Strategy & Channel Management- Develop and implement engaging social content aligned with AGBI’s editorial values to build brand trust and audience loyalty
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and PR teams to optimise content creation and social campaigns
- Stay updated on emerging social platforms, particularly those gaining traction in the Middle East, and propose innovative strategies
- Establish and maintain processes, including an internal marketing calendar and content library
- Champion best practices in social media within the newsroom and ensure alignment across teams.
- Manage and schedule content calendars, ensuring seamless alignment with editorial plans
- Write, edit, and optimise copy and multimedia for social channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram
- Develop creative visual assets, collaborating with graphic designers to maintain high-quality storytelling standards
- Lead the creation of dynamic content, including GIFs, videos, polls, and infographics, to engage audiences
- Work alongside the Audience Development Manager to align organic and paid social activity, and provide cover for the ADM on paid social
- Plan and execute ad hoc collaborations to drive social KPIs such as followers, likes, and website traffic
- Attend trade shows or events (if required) to create live social content.
- Monitor and engage with social media communities, responding to comments and managing audience interactions
- Address negative interactions thoughtfully to protect the brand’s reputation
- Develop influencer partnerships and manage collaborations to raise AGBI’s profile
- Use analytics tools to track, measure, and report on performance, presenting actionable insights to management
- Conduct competitor analysis and monitor industry trends to inform and improve the social strategy
- Extract editorial insights from data to optimise content and platform performance
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing social media for premium news websites or media organisations
- Expertise in LinkedIn, Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram, with a keen understanding of emerging platforms like Bluesky and region-specific channels in the Middle East
- Experience with Meta Business suite and LinkedIn Advertising is beneficial
- Strong copywriting, editing, and visual storytelling skills tailored for social platforms
- Ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners, such as PR agencies and influencers
- Familiarity with analytics tools to measure performance and improve strategy
- Proactive, innovative, and detail-oriented, with the ability to react quickly to industry trends
- Experience in managing visual content creation, from ideation to execution, including graphic design and video production collaboration
