Wood is recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Designer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on supporting the Lead Pipeline Engineer in developing cost-effective pipeline design and drawings for major onshore brownfield and greenfield projects in Sharjah, UAE on a 5/2 work schedule.
This role is a full-time office-based role in Sharjah, UAE.

This role is a full-time office-based role in Sharjah, UAE.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an international client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as supply chain, construction, and commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.
Projects include both greenfield and brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client's energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

- To support Lead Pipeline Engineer in developing cost-effective pipeline design and drawings
- To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule
- To coordinate with other disciplines for interdisciplinary checks
- Display a working knowledge of industry standard drafting practices, good aptitude, and general knowledge of engineering
- To perform a desktop study for pipeline routing and suggest a suitable pipeline route based on best engineering practice
- Prepare scope of work for topographical and underground utility survey
- To prepare pipeline schematic drawing, overall route maps, key plans, alignment sheets, station approach drawings, pipeline layouts for above ground pipelines, pipeline typical construction drawings, etc. in accordance with project specifications, international codes and standards
- Preparation of pipeline detail / bulk MTO, crossing schedule and support schedule
- To review site visit/route survey report as required
- To coordinate with other disciplines during all stages of pipeline design and drawings development
- To provide technical support to site as required
- Familiarity with key pipeline design codes and standards
- Input to piping discipline with respect to on-plot / off-plot interface areas at process plant
- Coordination with topographical contractors and site personnel for finalisation of pipeline route and construction drawings

Expected:
- Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant subject)
Business & Industry Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience
- Experience in FEED, detailed design, brownfield/greenfield, upstream oil
- Familiarisation with ARC GIS software
- E3D experience would be an advantage
- Experience of reviewing site survey data
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
