Position Summary
The Director, Office of the Chancellor serves as the Chancellor's principal strategic and operational partner, responsible for driving institutional execution, ensuring alignment across the University, and translating priorities into measurable outcomes.
This role acts as a central integrator across colleges and administrative units, ensuring that decisions are implemented with discipline, timelines are met, and institutional priorities are advanced effectively. The Director also manages the Chancellor's agenda, strategic communications, and key initiatives, enabling the Chancellor to focus on high-impact leadership and external engagement.
Core Responsibilities- Strategic Execution & Institutional Alignment
- Translate the Chancellor's priorities into clear execution plans across colleges and administrative units
- Drive follow-up and accountability on key initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and measurable outcomes
- Monitor institutional progress on strategic priorities and flag risks, bottlenecks, and misalignment
- Support the development and execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chancellor, providing structured analysis, insights, and recommendations
- Ensure the Chancellor receives high-quality, filtered, and decision-ready information
- Anticipate issues and proactively prepare options and scenarios for decision-making
- Own and optimize the Chancellor's agenda in alignment with institutional priorities
- Ensure all engagements are purposeful, well-prepared, and outcome-driven
- Prepare high-quality briefs, talking points, and background materials for meetings and events
- Coordinate preparation and follow-up for executive and Board-level meetings
- Ensure disciplined tracking of decisions and action items across the institution
- Establish and manage a regular execution cadence (e.g., weekly reviews, dashboards, progress updates)
- Act as a central liaison between the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors, Deans, and Directors
- Facilitate alignment and collaboration across units, breaking silos where needed
- Represent the Chancellor in internal meetings as required to drive progress and alignment
- Review and refine key communications issued from the Office of the Chancellor
- Ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with institutional positioning
- Support the development of speeches, messages, and strategic narratives
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Chancellor
- Ensure efficiency, professionalism, and confidentiality in all processes
- Lead and mentor the Office team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field preferred
- 12–18 years of experience in strategy, operations, or executive leadership support
- Demonstrated ability to operate at senior leadership level with credibility and influence
