Commercial Manager
Job Description
The Commercial Manager is responsible for leading commercial and estimation activities for rotating equipment, with a strong focus on contract review, risk management, and pricing strategy for centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, pumps, blowers, and pressure control products.
The role supports both Field Service and Workshop maintenance operations across Abu Dhabi and Qatar, while providing line management to the Estimation teams in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
The position ensures the development of high-quality bids aligned with EthosEnergy margin expectations, risk appetite, and the OneEthos strategy, while maintaining strict compliance with company procedures and governance processes.
Job Responsibilities- Lead contract review, redlining, and commercial risk assessment for all proposals related to rotating equipment services.
- Develop accurate cost and pricing models for Field Service and Workshop scopes including:
- Centrifugal compressors
- Steam turbines
- Pumps and blowers
- Pressure control products
- Manage and prioritise the estimation pipeline to meet bid deadlines and business requirements.
- Provide line management and leadership to the Abu Dhabi Estimation team and support Qatar estimation activities.
- Work closely with Sales to define customer-driven commercial strategies and pricing approaches.
- Ensure all proposals align with target margins, risk profile, and approval frameworks (DOA, CPP, Compliance).
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure accurate scope definition, execution assumptions, and cost inputs.
- Support contract negotiations with customers through timely updates, clarifications, and approvals.
- Develop and maintain commercial models for long-term agreements and multi-service offerings.
- Contribute to growth of Compressor and Turbine business lines, while supporting existing oilfield and pressure control product lines.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and company procedures in all commercial activities.
- Maintain proper document control and proposal records.
- Support regional strategy by improving pricing consistency, turnaround time, and win rates.
- Strong commercial and contractual acumen (contract review, risk identification, negotiation support)
- Advanced estimation and cost modelling skills for rotating equipment
- Leadership capability with ability to manage and develop multi-location teams
- Strong understanding of field service and workshop operations
- Excellent stakeholder management across Sales, Operations, Legal, and Finance
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in Excel and commercial modelling tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in commercial, estimation, or bidding roles within oil & gas, energy, or power sectors
- Strong background in centrifugal compressors and steam turbines (field service and overhaul)
- Experience in pumps, blowers, or pressure control equipment is an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in contract reviews and commercial negotiations
- Experience managing or leading estimation/commercial teams
- Familiarity with workshop and field service maintenance scopes
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline
- Professional commercial or financial qualifications are an advantage
- Full and clean driving license (UAE or convertible to UAE license).
- Able to travel extensively and work in workshop, field, and offshore environments.
