About the Role:
Union Coop is seeking a dynamic, creative, and strategic Social Media Specialist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about digital communication, content creation, and community engagement. The Social Media Specialist will play a key role in shaping Union Coops online presence, increasing our digital reach, and building meaningful relationships with our audience across all major social platforms.
As a representative of Union Coops values and voice, youll be responsible for developing content strategies, executing daily posts, and interacting directly with our online community. This role combines creativity with analytics, requiring a strong understanding of digital trends, audience behavior, and brand alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Strategy & Growth- Develop and implement integrated social media plans tailored to each platform to grow Union Coops digital presence, boost engagement, and increase followers organically.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align social media activities with the marketing calendar and promotional campaigns, ensuring accurate messaging and on-time delivery.
- Plan, write, and publish daily posts across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. Ensure content is engaging, informative, and visually aligned with the brand.
- Produce high-quality, platform-specific content (written, image, and video) and coordinate with designers, photographers, and videographers to develop creative assets.
- Track brand mentions, trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity across digital channels. Provide regular reports on sentiment, audience growth, and campaign performance.
- Actively engage with our followers by responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions in a professional and timely manner. Ask questions, initiate conversations, and create two-way communication with the audience.
- Identify, approach, and manage collaborations with influencers and brand advocates who align with our target audience and values to boost credibility and reach.
- Plan and manage interactive activities like polls, giveaways, live Q&A sessions, and contests to increase user participation and brand awareness.
- Work closely with the assigned social media agency to align on schedules, provide timely content, coordinate designs, and review analytics.
- Measure performance of content and campaigns using social media analytics tools. Prepare and present regular performance reports with insights and recommendations.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience managing social media accounts, preferably within the retail, FMCG, or service industries in the UAE or GCC.
- Expert knowledge of social media platforms, their algorithms, and online marketing best practices.
- Strong creative and strategic thinking skills with a passion for digital storytelling.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects while maintaining quality and deadlines.
