Wood is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Designer - E3D to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on carrying out assigned instrument design work as part of a multi-discipline project team for a major onshore brownfield project in Dubai, UAE.
This role is onsite in Dubai, UAE with possible travel.

Wood has been awarded an onshore project to support an international client operation by providing engineering services plus project management, supply chain, construction, commissioning, EPC management support both within Iraq and Dubai offices.The vision of this contract is to enhance the production by delivering greenfield and brownfield modification projects that include new installations as well as a series of modifications to the existing facilities. A team of engineers and designers based in Dubai and Basra supports in execution of these projects.

- Carry out assigned instrument design work as part of a multi-discipline project team
- May be required to perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations
- Provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the project's, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements
- Provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering and construction
- Preparation and checking of all types of electrical and/or instrument design deliverables such as block diagrams, schematics, layout drawings, termination diagrams, schedules, loop diagrams, hook-up arrangements, material take-offs, etc.
- Interdisciplinary check of all civil/structural/piping/mechanical/electrical/instrumentation drawings
- Review of vendor drawings for equipment/package items
- Produce drawings in AutoCAD
- Assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline
- Promote safe behaviour at all times

Expected:
- Diploma qualification or HND in Electronics / Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 12-15 years relevant experience in an engineering design company as an electrical designer
- Knowledge of site-based project work involving field engineering and construction
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
- Previous onshore oil and gas related electrical and/or instrument design experience
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Excel and Word
- Experience of E3D is a must
