Resident Mechanical Engineer (Water Transmission)
Job Description
Responsibilities
You shall be the performing the role of Resident Engineer as the lead position on a water transmission contract and be in charge of project manager and lead site supervisor role on behalf of project consultant. You shall be the focal point of project communication toward the client, EPC contractor, developer and other stakeholders.Until commencement of site construction you shall be stationed at the design office and shall be standalone responsible for external coordination/reporting via meetings and phone calls, correspondence, internally coordinating/reporting/participating in reviewing/commenting of detailed design documents/calculations/drawings, and general supporting company goals within your scope of expertise and capability.
After site activities start you shall be based on site, supervising and coordinating the work and reporting to the home office and the client. Proactive management towards achieving overall project goals of quality and schedule compliance is expected.
Can-do attitude and problem-solving motivation, as well as versatility and adaptability to various general duties are a part of the responsibilities.
Current project is expected to last 1-1.5 years. Further projects are expected to be available for the well performing candidate.
Qualifications
You have a B.Sc. mechanical engineering degree or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience. Previous approval of a GCC water transmission utility for a similar role shall be a significant advantage. Relevant experience should be in site supervision and project management of water transmission projects.
Sound engineering education and familiarity with basics of water transmission and distribution, as well as of general industry practices is required. Ability to produce professionally worded and properly structured documents without assistance are needed for the ability of job execution.Working proficiency is required in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project, and skills in engineering software should be specified in CV.
Good communication skills and good written and spoken English are mandatory. Professional and optimistic, cooperative attitude, polite demeanour and professional neat appearance are expected. Ability and willingness to work in a multi cultural environment without prejudice or barriers is needed,
