About the role:
Jumeirah College is seeking a dedicated, dynamic, well-qualified, experienced and highly committed sports coach with a specialism in swimming to help grow our swimming provision. The successful candidate will have the ability to extend, challenge and develop our most able performers, as well as possessing the qualities to inspire and nurture a love of swimming in every pupil across the college.
As a sports coach, the post holder should be able to contribute to the wider school enriched curriculum programme by supporting one or more school sports. Coaches who are willing to commit wholeheartedly to wider school life will be at a distinct advantage.The successful candidate will work in an exceptional department which is both extremely popular and effective. In 2024 the results in GCSE were outstanding, with 100% of students receiving 9-4 grades, of which 50% achieved grades 9-7. At A-Level, the results were equally impressive with 100% A*-C.
The opportunities which PE and sport presents for students are central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.
The role involves:
- Overseeing the school ECA programme for swimming
- Planning and delivering swim squad sessions that will develop performers of all ages and abilities
- Involvement in after school and weekend fixtures/tournaments
- Planning and delivering engaging swimming lessons for students across the different year groups as part of the PE curriculum
- Assisting in the teaching of PE lessons across all age groups
- Working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team
- Contributing to the wider physical education curriculum and sports programme by working collaboratively with colleagues
- Contributing fully to both the department and the wider school community
- Attendance at open days and other meetings and events taking place outside school hours e.g. staff meetings and CPD

Skills
Qualifications and skills- Hold a Swim England Qualification (SEQ) Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification or equivalent
- Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice

- Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
- Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching
