Position Overview:

The Senior US Admissions Consultant will play a central role in guiding students through one of the most important journeys of their lives - the undergraduate university application process. This is a high-impact, student-facing role that demands equal parts expertise, empathy, and execution.

The ideal candidate is either a former US university admissions officer or holds a degree from a Top 20 US university with hands-on experience in the admissions consulting space. They understand what elite admissions committees look for and can translate that insight into practical, personalised guidance for ambitious students and their families.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of student outcomes, and brings genuine passion to the work of shaping futures.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Counselling & Application Support:

  • Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with students and parents to map out university options, academic programmes, and long-term career trajectories
  • Guide students in building strong, cohesive applications - including personal statements, supplemental essays, activity lists, and supporting materials
  • Provide structured mentorship on standardised test preparation (SAT, ACT, AP subjects) and academic requirements for target universities
  • Help students identify relevant scholarship and financial aid opportunities, ensuring they have access to the resources they need
  • Offer expert guidance on international application platforms including Common App, UCAS, OUAC, and university-specific portals

Student & Parent Engagement:

  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with students and parents - providing monthly progress updates via calls, emails, and structured reports
  • Partner with the marketing team to organise webinars, workshops, and informational sessions on admissions trends, essay writing, and university selection
  • Respond to student and parent queries in a professional, timely, and accurate manner, building trust throughout the application journey

Data Management & Research:

  • Ensure accurate tracking of student applications, timelines, and milestones within the student CRM and database
  • Conduct ongoing research on global university trends, evolving admissions policies, and emerging academic programmes
  • Support students in pursuing enrichment opportunities - including the John Locke Essay Competition, Math Olympiads, and other profile-strengthening programmes

Qualifications & Skills:

Background (either of the following):

  • Former admissions officer at a US university, preferably a highly selective institution; or
  • Bachelor's degree from a Top 20 US university with 2-3 years of experience in admissions consulting or a closely related field
  • Strong understanding of the US undergraduate admissions landscape, including Ivy League and liberal arts college expectations - drawn from both personal experience and professional practice
  • Preferably based in Hong Kong, Dubai, or working remotely - candidates must be available and comfortable working within UAE/Asian time zones
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide students through essay writing and personal narrative development
  • Proficiency in MS Office, G Suite, and CRM tools; strong data management and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple student timelines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Why Join Rostrum Education
  • Work with a highly experienced team of mentors and strategists, including former Ivy League and Oxbridge admissions officers, in a dynamic environment
  • Gain deep, hands-on expertise in global university admissions consulting across the US, UK, Canada, and beyond
  • Competitive salary, performance-based incentives, and clear pathways for career advancement within the organisation
  • Be part of a mission-driven team that has helped students secure offers from Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, Columbia, and more - and make a tangible difference in students lives every day
