Structural Design Engineer

Job Description

This role requires close collaboration with aerodynamicists, surface design engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design primary and secondary structural elements such as fuselage, wings, control surfaces, landing gear interfaces
• Design complete or sections of a UAV launcher system, rail design, tensioning system, powertrain system...
• Perform structural analysis using FEA tools to validate the integrity and performance of designs under various load conditions.
• Create and review technical documentation including design, reports and test plans documents.
• Ensure that all structures meet relevant aerospace standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with surface design engineers to refine geometries for structural efficiency and manufacturability.
• Support prototype assembly and testing by providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.
• Implement design changes based on test results, feedback from manufacturing, or client-specific requirements.
• Participate in the material selection process to balance structural requirements with weight, cost, and environmental considerations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor&aposs or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in structural design, preferably in the aerospace or UAV industry.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX).
• Hands-on experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar.
• Strong understanding of static, dynamic, and fatigue analysis.
• Familiarity with aerospace materials (e.g., carbon composites, fiberglass composites, aluminum alloys, steel alloys, titanium).
