Operations Director – AV & Smart Workplace Solutions
Our client is a leading Dubai-based provider of AV and smart workplace solutions, delivering complex, multi-technology projects across enterprise, government, and large-scale infrastructure sectors.
We are seeking an accomplished Operations Director to take full ownership of project delivery, operations, and client success.
This is a senior leadership role accountable for delivering projects on time, within scope, and to the highest standards, while building long-term client partnerships, strengthening vendor ecosystems, and driving operational excellence across a growing portfolio.
The successful candidate will be a board-level operator with a proven record in programme delivery and operations management, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to lead, inspire, and scale high-performing cross-functional teams.
Role Summary- Provide strategic leadership and governance of the end-to-end delivery process, from contract award through execution to handover.
- Lead and mentor the Project Deployment Team (Project Managers, Engineers, Coordinators), fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and enforce best-in-class delivery practices covering scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and risk management.
- Act as the primary client-facing executive during delivery, ensuring senior stakeholder alignment, progress transparency, and timely resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to ensure a seamless transition from contract signing to delivery execution.
- Build and manage relationships with vendors, OEMs, and subcontractors, ensuring commercial efficiency, delivery excellence, and conflict resolution.
- Provide financial oversight of budgets, costs, margins, and profitability, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could impact performance or outcomes.
- Represent the organisation at industry forums, exhibitions, and strategic partner events, reinforcing brand authority and market presence.
- 12+ years’ experience in operations, programme delivery, or project management, with at least 5 years in executive leadership roles.
- Proven success in delivering large-scale, multi-technology transformation programmes (ICT, AV, AI-driven, or digital workplace).
- Strong record of senior client and stakeholder management across enterprise, government, and infrastructure sectors.
- Deep expertise in ICT, AV, AI, and smart workplace/building technologies, with awareness of emerging trends and regulatory drivers.
- Demonstrated ability in vendor and subcontractor management, with established OEM and partner relationships.
- Financially astute, with proven experience driving profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
- UAE driving license is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- PMP / PRINCE2 certification preferred.
- Currently based in the UAE.
- Fluent in English with exceptional client-facing, communication, and senior stakeholder engagement skills; able to influence at board and C-suite level.
- Arabic language proficiency preferred.
