This selective, co-educational day school caters for students aged 3 to 18. The school is located within the prestigious Sobha Hartland Development, close to the Burj Khalifa and Downtown area of Dubai, and boasts state-of-the-art facilities.
NLCS Dubai is seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our growing Science department. We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, well-qualified and highly committed person possessing excellent language and literary skills. The post will involve teaching Physics to students in the 11-16 age group.
The successful candidate will also ensure that the qualities of the IB Learner Profile and the core academic skills of research and inquiry are embedded within the curriculum. It is essential that the Teacher of Physics has the ability to communicate deep knowledge of and passion for the subject.
Previous experience of the IB Middle Years and/or the IB Diploma are an advantage; of prime importance is an ability to motivate and inspire students and lead staff in order to ensure that academic provision is consistent with the highest standard.
All members of staff are expected to be involved in pastoral care within the school community, usually in the role of form tutor or co-tutor, and to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school.
Responsibilities
Teaching Physics to students aged 11 to 16, embedding IB Learner Profile qualities and core academic skills within the curriculum, motivating and inspiring students, leading staff to maintain high academic standards, and participating in pastoral care and extra-curricular activities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
A well-qualified, enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly committed individual with excellent language and literary skills, a passion for Physics, and preferably experience with the IB Middle Years and/or IB Diploma programmes. The candidate should be able to motivate and inspire students and contribute positively to the school community.
