Job Title: Assistant Manager Credit
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Department: Credit & Risk

Reporting To: Head of Credit & Risk

Job Purpose:

To assist the Head of Credit & Risk in evaluating, recommending, and monitoring credit proposals in line with Credit Policy, Risk Appetite, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality underwriting, effective risk mitigation, and portfolio sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed credit and financial analysis of prospective clients using financial statements and analytical tools (e.g., Moodys, spreadsheets).
  • Prepare comprehensive credit proposals highlighting key risks, deviations, mitigants, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate and propose appropriate security structures, including LTV, DSCR, and coverage assessments.
  • Support the development, implementation, and review of credit and risk management policies.
  • Liaise with business teams to ensure risk-aligned growth and effective portfolio management.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, conduct annual reviews, and prepare risk and regulatory reports as required.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with UAE Central Bank regulations and internal policies.
  • Contribute to process improvements and risk mitigation initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in Credit & Risk functions within a Bank or Finance Company.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, credit assessment, and risk evaluation.

  • Technical: Financial modelling, analytical skills, knowledge of credit appraisal systems, MS Office proficiency.
  • Cognitive: Problem-solving, attention to detail, decision-making, change management.
