YOUR ROLE
As a Lifting Appointed Person, you will:
Lifting Planning and Execution- Develop and implement comprehensive lifting plans in line with ADNOC Onshore and Offshore policies, local regulations, and global industry standards (BS 7121, LOLER).
- Categorize lifts (Simple, Complicated, Complex) and plan accordingly, including tandem and multi-crane lifts.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, lift studies, and crane position assessments for each lifting activity.
- Ensure ground bearing pressure, crane load charts, radius, and environmental factors are evaluated during planning.
- Supervise all aspects of lifting operations, including equipment setup, rigging, execution, and demobilization at ADNOC and other work sites.
- Lead and coordinate lifting teams including Crane Operators, Riggers, and Banksmen to deliver safe and efficient operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all lifting-related issues, guidance, or incident response on-site.
- Conduct pre-lift meetings, toolbox talks, and on-site briefings to communicate plans and risks effectively.
- Prioritize and promote HSE initiatives, with a focus on safe lifting practices and incident prevention.
- Ensure compliance with OSHAD, UAE Federal Laws, ADNOC lifting guidelines, and company safety procedures.
- Take proactive steps to stop unsafe operations and implement corrective measures where necessary.
- Maintain a solid understanding of international lifting standards (e.g., BS 7121, ISO, ASME, LOLER).
- Ensure that lifting equipment is certified, inspected, and maintained in line with regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of lifting equipment, accessories, and procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation of lift plans, equipment inspections, risk assessments, and personnel qualifications.
- Collaborate with site engineers, Construction Managers, HSE teams, and external stakeholders to coordinate lifting activities and avoid operational clashes.
- Facilitate clear communication between lifting teams and other departments to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and ADNOC lifting inspectors, third-party agencies, and regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate training and skills development for rigging and lifting teams, including refreshers and certifications.
- Verify and maintain records of competencies for all lifting personnel, ensuring only authorized staff are involved in critical operations.
- Promote a learning culture by capturing lessons learned and updating procedures accordingly.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience- Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in offshore and onshore lifting in the oil and gas EPC industry.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or related field)
- Appointed Person Certification (LEEA and ADNOC Approved Agency Certification)
- Certified Lifting Supervisor and Rigging certifications preferred
- Valid third-party certified qualifications in lifting operations recognized in the UAE by ADNOC
- Have adequate training and hands-on professional experience and be competent to act as Appointed person for lifting equipment.
- Be able to write lifting plans, supervise and execute critical lifting in oil and gas companies.
- Familiar with international standard related to lifting engineering practices with sufficient knowledge in interpretation and to bring excellence in change management.
