Technical Manager
Job Description
The Technical Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring that every approved design at EVA Interiors is transformed into fully coordinated, technically compliant, and construction-ready documentation that can be executed without ambiguity, delay, or compromise.
This role acts as the core bridge between design intent and site execution, ensuring that all creative outputs are translated into precise, buildable solutions aligned with EVA's standards of luxury, quality, and operational excellence.
The Technical Manager is accountable for enforcing technical governance, documentation accuracy, and cross-functional coordination, ensuring that projects move from concept to execution seamlessly, efficiently, and without rework.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES (PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY)
The Technical Manager is fully accountable for delivering the following measurable outcomes:
- 100% accuracy and coordination of all issued drawings and IFC packages
- On-time release of IFC documentation aligned with project schedules (≥95% adherence)
- Minimal rework and revision cycles due to technical errors (Target: ≤5%)
- Full compliance with UAE authority standards (DM, Civil Defense, Trakhees, etc.)
- Seamless integration across all functions (Design, Procurement, Planning, Execution)
- 100% adherence to EVA SOPs, documentation standards, and system usage
KEY PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
A. Technical Documentation & IFC Governance
The Technical Manager leads the full lifecycle of technical documentation, ensuring precision and readiness for execution:
- Own and lead the preparation, review, and approval of all Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings
- Ensure all drawings are fully coordinated across design, structural, and MEP disciplines
- Review and finalize all technical details, including:
- Joinery and millwork detailing
- Reflected ceiling plans (RCP)
- Sections and construction details
- MEP integration layouts
- Enforce strict documentation standards, including:
- File structure and naming conventions
- Version control and revision logs
- Submission traceability within Teamwork
- Ensure all IFC packages are complete, clear, and executable without ambiguity
B. Cross-Functional Coordination & Integration
The role ensures alignment between all departments to eliminate gaps between design and execution:
- Partner with the Head of Design and Design Team to validate buildability of concepts
- Identify and resolve technical clashes proactively before site execution
- Align with Planning to ensure documentation timelines match project schedules
- Work closely with Procurement to ensure materials and specifications are technically aligned
- Coordinate with Project and Site Teams to ensure smooth handover and execution readiness
- Review and approve shop drawings and subcontractor submissions
- Lead technical coordination meetings and manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
C. Quality Assurance & Execution Control
The Technical Manager ensures that execution reflects design intent with zero compromise:
- Implement and enforce EVA QA/QC standards across all technical outputs
- Conduct technical audits and validations before issuing any documentation
- Perform regular site inspections to verify alignment with IFC drawings
- Ensure zero deviation between approved drawings and site execution
- Maintain and manage a Design Change Log, ensuring full visibility and control
- Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining design integrity
D. Leadership & Technical Team Management
The Technical Manager is responsible for building a high-performing, accountable technical team:
- Lead, manage, and develop the technical team (draftsmen, detailers, coordinators)
- Set clear performance expectations and delivery standards
- Ensure team productivity aligns with project demands and timelines
- Provide coaching, technical guidance, and continuous feedback
- Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and precision
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
The Technical Manager works in close alignment with:
- Head of Design (direct reporting and alignment on design integrity)
- Planning Team (timeline and delivery synchronization)
- Procurement Team (material and technical specification alignment)
- Project Managers & Site Teams (execution readiness and issue resolution)
External:
- Government authorities (Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, Trakhees)
- Consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers for technical coordination and approvals
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
The Technical Manager operates with full authority on:
- Approval of all technical drawings and IFC documentation
- Validation of technical feasibility and constructability
- Resolution of technical conflicts and coordination issues
- Acceptance or rejection of shop drawings and technical submissions
- Enforcement of documentation standards and SOP compliance
All decisions are aligned with EVA's technical standards, project timelines, and quality expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline
- 7–10 years of experience in luxury residential or high-end fit-out projects
- Proven expertise in:
- Technical detailing and construction documentation
- Joinery and millwork design
- MEP coordination and integration
- Advanced proficiency in:
- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Revit (preferred)
- MS Office and project management systems
- Strong understanding of UAE authority regulations and approval processes
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
